RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF CORNWALLIS Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council held in the Council Chambers of the Municipality on Thursday, March 27, 2008. PRESENT: Reeve Kurt Wasserberg Councillor Emil Egert, Ward One Councillor Bob Brown, Ward Two Councillor Sam Hofer, Ward Three Councillor Heather Dalgleish, Ward Four Councillor Valerie Thoman, Ward Six Chief Administrative Officer, Bob Wallis ABSENT: Councillor Mike Cranford, Ward Five CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to Order at 7:00 P.M. Public Works Employee Vacancy Resolution No. 109/2008 Thoman/Brown Be it resolved that the Municipality advertise to fill the vacant public works employee position; and Be it further resolved that the following members of Council be authorized to serve as a selection panel and to hire a new employee according to the job description adopted February 19, 2008: Councillors Egert, Brown, Hofer and Dalgleish And; Be it further resolved that a probationary period of six months will apply to the new incumbent." Carried 6-0 Ward One Bridge Resolution No. 110/2008 Egert/Brown Resolved that the Municipality accept the revised estimate from Suddaby Construction dated March 15, 2008 to repair a Ward One bridge at a cost of $52,000.00 to $54,000.00 and that the Ward Councillor be authorized to oversee the works. Carried 6-0 Revised Draft Financial Plan Council reviewed the draft financial plan inclusive of revisions made on March 18, 2008. Projects For Federal Gas Tax Revenue Council discussed Gas Tax Revenue funding and potential project spending. Ward One Property Clean up Resolution No. 111/2008 Thoman/Dalgleish Resolved that associated with Councillor Egert's inquiry concerning the clean up of an area property that the family be advised that the cost of disposal is not a municipal responsibility.
