June 2, 2025 - Level 2: Mid-Risk. Partial Fire Ban in Place
As per the Province of Manitoba | News Releases | Fire Bulletin #21 there remains a risk for further developing fires across the province. Although these fires are currently not within our municipality, we want to be cautious of our resources and our local emergency services, who may be called to assist with wildfire operations, during the provincial state of emergency.
In saying so, we will currently allow campfires ONLY in CSA approved fire pits. However, the following is still in effect until further notice:
Complete ban on ALL motorized back-country vehicles, including ATVs, at all hours within the municipality.
ALL forms of burning are strictly prohibited within the Municipality during this time. This includes, but is not limited to, fireworks; and, the burning of grass, leaves, crop residue, and bushes.
Exercise caution when outdoors. Prevent equipment caused wildfires: * Keep machinery clean and in good repair. Avoid driving/parking in long cured grass.
As a further wildfire prevention measure, ALL municipal burn permits are cancelled and will not be issued until fire danger conditions improve. Further restrictions may be implemented if the fire danger levels increase, or conditions change significantly.
